On their way to the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra’s season debut in Grand Falls last Friday, Oct. 25, the orchestra’s executive director, Don Matheson, along with music director and conductor Tony Delgado dropped into Sabian headquarters in Meductic.

Delgado is also the music director of Sistema NB, a school outreach program.

“We were en route to Grand Falls for the wonderful season debut concert of the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra, performed last Sunday at the Assumption Church,” explained Matheson.

He explained Sabian Ltd., a world leader in cymbals, has been a generous supporter of the Sistema free after-school orchestral outreach program for kids. He said the program is now serving more than 500 children daily at centres in Moncton, Saint John, Richibucto, and Tobique First Nation.

“Ann MacNally, international promotions supervisor at Sabian Ltd., hosted Tony and me on a tour of the beautiful Sabian Museum at their company headquarters in Meductic,” he said. “We presented Ann with a plaque of appreciation from Sistema NB.”
