Monique Boudreau Receives NBYO Community Champion Award
NBYO President and CEO, Kenn Mainville presents the Community Champion Award to Monique Boudreau, Superintendent of the District scolaire francophone Sud.

The New Brunswick Youth Orchestra was proud to present the Community Champion Award to Monique Boudreau, District Superintendent of the District scolaire francophone Sud, at the Sistema NB Moncton Finale Concert on June 13 at Tidal Church.

The Community Champion Award recognizes leaders whose commitment, advocacy, and support have made a lasting contribution to the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra and Sistema New Brunswick’s mission of transforming young lives through orchestral music.

Monique has been a supporter of Sistema New Brunswick from its earliest days and was a strong advocate for the participation of students from the District scolaire francophone Sud, then known as District 1 and District 11. She worked to remove barriers and helped establish opportunities for children and youth to take part in the program.

Through this collaboration, hundreds of students from the District scolaire francophone Sud have participated in Sistema NB through centres in Moncton, Richibucto, and Oromocto. These students have gained access to free, intensive after-school programming that builds confidence, focus, discipline, teamwork, and a strong sense of belonging.

Throughout her tenure as district superintendent, Monique has remained an enthusiastic and committed partner, consistently helping to overcome challenges and find solutions that allow more children to participate. Her approach has always been collaborative, practical, and focused on what is possible for students and families.

One meaningful example of this partnership can be seen through the Sistema NB Richibucto Centre, where collaboration between the District scolaire francophone Sud, Anglophone North School District, and Elsipogtog First Nation helped bring students from different communities together in a French-language after-school program. This work reflected the shared commitment of all partners to creating inclusive opportunities for children through music and community.

In 2021, Monique was also a champion of the ambitious 10,000 Children Campaign, a province-wide initiative launched by Sistema NB to expand access to free, intensive music education and social development opportunities for underserved children and youth across New Brunswick. Her support helped build the momentum and partnerships that continue to benefit young people across the province today.

Under Monique’s leadership, an enduring partnership has developed between the District scolaire francophone Sud and Sistema New Brunswick. Her commitment, leadership, and support have left a lasting impact on children and families across the province.

The New Brunswick Youth Orchestra is honoured to recognize Monique Boudreau with the Community Champion Award and grateful for her lasting contribution to children, families, and communities across New Brunswick.
