LLt Along with 5,600 others, I had the pleasure of seeing the Capitol Theatre’s tremendous production of The Sound of Music. What a show! The quality of this performance was as good as any Broadway show I’ve attended.
I left feeling immensely proud of the creative energy we have in our community; of the initiative, passion and plain hard work that went into making this magic happen.
A special ‘thank you’ and congratulations go to the entire cast and orchestra, to Kim Rayworth, Marshall Button, Blair Lawrence, Antonio Delgado, Ken McLeod and everyone behind the scenes for their hard work.
For four days, downtown Moncton was abuzz with theatre-goers who couldn’t believe their fortune – to be able to see such a high-quality production right here at their own beautiful Capitol Theatre.
And why not? We certainly have the talent here. Productions such as this help to mine local talent, attract business to our downtown and contribute to our quality of life. This production was a real melting pot of fabulous Moncton-area talent along and local performers originally from Quebec, Venezuela, Ontario, Mexico and the U.S. The Capitol Theatre’s production of The Sound of Music is just one more reason we have to feel proud of our city.
I can’t wait to see what they’ve got up their sleeves for next year!
